Fractional CO2 Laser for Pore Reduction
WHAT CAUSES PORES?
When sebum and dirt collect on oily skin, large pores tend to appear and cause your skin to swell up. As a result, your pores may appear larger than usual. People who tend to experience oily skin are also more likely to have large pores. Another factor that causes this is aging, because the skin begins to lose its elasticity, thus making pores look bigger. Large pores can also form when skin is exposed to the sun; this is because the skin thickens due to additional skin cells forming around the edges of pores, stretching them out in the process.
HOW CAN IT BE TREATED?
Fractional Laser Resurfacing (Lux1540, non-ablative) is a fairly new treatment method in the aesthetic industry, and can be used to treat large pores on your skin. Laser energy micro beams are utilised to break down the skin tissue, paving the way for new, healthy skin to grow over the outlined treatment area. Much like using ablative lasers or deep chemical peels, this new technology duplicates the results without the downtime and discomfort that is usually associated with it.
Your skin will heal naturally, which will make the new layer glow and appear much more radiant which will ensure you look and feel younger. Make-up can be applied straight after that procedure, with no visible wounds left on the skin.
HOW OFTEN?
The optimum number of sessions may vary from individual to individual, and your doctor will discuss this with you during the consultation session. Generally, treatments are spaced 1-4 weeks apart, and most cycles consist of 4-5 sessions.
Following each session, your skin should feel firmer and refreshed, which results in a quicker recovery time for future visits. In addition, a healthy skincare routine should also consist of skin product application and facials, which also help to maintain your newfound glowing complexion!
