Skin Peel for Dull Skin
WHAT CAUSES DULL SKIN?
A lack of sleep is cited as the most common reason for dull skin, and this is quite normal for individuals leading very busy lifestyles. This can lead to eye bags, dark eye circles and wrinkles forming on your skin. The dust and pollution of the city may also settle on your skin, making it look duller, while too much exposure to the sun can also affect your skin in the future. In addition, not cleaning your skin properly can also lead to dull skin, as the dirt layers on the surface can make it tough for your pores to breathe properly.
HOW IT WORKS
Safe and suitable for both men and women, skin peel is also referred to as chemical peel and is mainly used to get rid of the upper skin layers. The peeling solution helps achieve this by causing the natural peeling of the skin. This gets rid of all the dead skin cells at the surface, and also reveals a fresh layer of skin below which is usually healthier and smoother than before.
At Premier Clinic, we use a trichloroacetic acid (TCA) peel, which is one of the original peels used for this treatment, but other types of peels are available depending on your skin’s requirements.
You will experience a mild burning sensation during the first application; this is the solution taking effect and inducing skin peeling. A cooling device will be used to blow cool air onto your face to reduce the sting during this time. After the procedure is over, cold compresses will be applied to cool your skin further.
The peel can also be increased in effectiveness and intensity with the application of several layers of the solution, but this depends on your desired outcome as well as your skin’s condition. However, gradual improvements should be visible after each session regardless of the peel used.
POST TREATMENT
Most individuals are recommended 2-4 peels, but this is dependent on the skin’s situation and desired results. Our doctors will help advise and guide you regarding a suitable number of sessions in order to obtain the best results as possible. Treatments are usually spaced 4 weeks apart, and you should also minimise exposure to the sun and apply sunscreen lotion. Use the moisturiser provided for up to 1 week, or until your skin is no longer sensitive.
