Stretch Marks – How to Treat Them?
Hi everyone, following on from my previous post, I outlined what causes stretch marks on your body. You can read the original post by clicking here.
Today, let me introduce to you 3 ways to combat stretch marks if you just can’t seem to get rid of them. They can appear in various shapes and forms but are often unsightly and unmistakeably recognisable.
Fractional CO2 Laser
A fairly simple way to reduce the amount of visible stretch marks on your body, this technology is relatively new and is also known as Fractional Laser Resurfacing. Utilising micro beams from the laser energy, it breaks down skin tissue in small areas at a time. The laser essentially creates a host of mini wounds in your skin, which are harmless, invisible and trigger the production of collagen and ephithelium.

This stimulates the production of fresh, new skin cells to replace the old layer of skin in the area. The effect of the laser is similar to that of ablative lasers and deep chemical peels, but with much less discomfort and downtime.
Dermaroller
Like the fractional CO2 laser treatment, triggers your body into producing new skin cells to replace the old one. It is a non-invasive treatment which stimulates the body to produce fresh collagen as well, rejuvenating the top layers of your skin. It works by using a series of micro-needles attached to a roller; this roller creates microscopic holes in your skin when rolled across an outlined area.

These holes are invisible and also close up quickly, ensuring that the skin healing process is swift. As the new layer of skin grows, it is also thicker than previously as well as more youthful looking, thanks to the collagen and elastin produced by the body. In addition, a customised serum is used on your skin to address its condition and needs specifically, further helping the healing and rejuvenating process post stretch marks.
SilkPeel Dermalinfusion
It is very similar to microdermabrasion, but is actually one step ahead. It uses a diamond head to exfoliate the upper layers of skin, eliminating dead skin cells in the process. Using a machine that applies vacuum pressure, the abrasion may be done intensively or gently depending on the intensity that is determined.

A topical serum infusion where the new skin cells are generated also triggers the production of collagen, much like the other two methods above. It is helpful in the long run as your body builds up reserves of collagen, allowing for much quicker regeneration of skin cells which are also youthful in appearance. This helps to remove fine lines and stretch marks when your skin repairs itself, with each cycle seeing a marked improvement in your skin condition.
