Obagi Skincare for Dull Skin
WHAT CAUSES DULL SKIN
If your skin appears to be dull, it is likely that it is dehydrated and suffering from a build-up of dead skin cells. This may be caused by several problems, but the most common one is not getting enough sleep (under 7 hours), which is almost a given in the busy lifestyles of those staying in the city. This can result in wrinkles, eye bags and dark eye circles beginning to form.
An unbalanced diet with not enough vitamins and minerals will also deprive your skin of essential nutrients needed to stay healthy. Excessive smoking and drinking are also other factors that can cause dull skin, as well as too much sun exposure. Not cleaning your skin properly may also result in your pores having difficulty breathing, which is also another reason why skin may appear dull.
HOW CAN IT BE TREATED?
Effectively rejuvenating skin to look new and fresh, the Obagi skin care treatment line is a superb choice for those with dull skin. The Obagi Nu-Derm System is used for dry skin and penetrates the skin’s surface to repair the unsightliness of it. Promoting a faster rate of skin cell growth to replace the old, damaged ones, you will soon notice newer, healthier skin on the surface. The older layers of skin will be eliminated, leaving you with a young and fresh complexion.
A medically-based skin care programme, it combines several products – cleanser, toner, skin lightener, exfoliate, and Retin-A. Dr. Obagi recognised the usefulness of Retin-A early, and has refined this skin care regime to optimise its high points while negating some of the unwanted side effects that it formerly caused.
Obagi Nu-Derm System consists of:
- Obagi Cleanser (200ml)
- Obagi Toner (200ml)
- Obagi Clear (57gm)
- Obagi Exfoderm (57gm)
- Obagi Blender (57gm)
- Obagi Sun Shield SPF50
RECOVERY
Typically, your skin needs about 2-4 weeks to get used to the system as it builds up tolerance to the strength of the products. You might experience minor irritation and skin peeling during this time, but rest assured that it will subside as your skin begins to acclimatise to it and begins healing.
