Ellansé is made of a safe medical polymer called polycaprolactone (PCL), which has been used for many years in medical implants and other devices. The Ellansé filler consists of microspheres of PCL suspended in a natural gel carrier (CMC).

The treatment incurs minimal down time. The normal recovery period is usually 12-24 hours. Nonetheless, some patients can resume their daily routine almost immediately, depending on the individual.

However, the treatment experience and effects will be unique for every patient. This includes treatment plans, results, down time and recovery period. As with any injection, there may be slight side effects such as localised redness, swelling and bruising, but these temporary effects will disappear after a short time.
