These days, beauty salons have become very open in advertising their aesthetic services, especially on social media. Many of the procedures are done by uncertified practitioners without proper medical qualifications.

Dr Chen advised the public to check if their doctor has the necessary LCP certification before signing up for procedures. LCP which is “Letter of Credentialing and Privileging” is a certification from the Ministry of Health for doctors who are qualified to practise aesthetic medicine. To obtaining the LCP, doctors must attend courses related to aesthetic medicine and complete an attachment with an aesthetic doctor approved by the ministry.

Go for treatment from real and qualified aesthetic doctors with LCP for aesthetic procedures.

Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam warned beauty salons to stop providing Botox injections other aesthetic procedures or risk action, which may include jail time.
