Circuit Training – Why Is It Good For You?

Hey guys, hope you’ve all had a fantastic weekend and are fully energised and ready to take on the week ahead. Today I want to talk about circuit training and its benefits. It is a very good way to burn off those calories as well as keeping your mind on the task. Read on below.
 
What Is It?
Unlike conventional workouts at the gym, circuit training comprises of several exercises that are designed to specifically give you the results you want to achieve. Whether you plan on losing weight, burning up calories in double quick time, toning your muscles or other targets, circuit training is able to address your needs. It also helps to keep boredom at bay since the circuit is made up of several exercises, all of which may only take several minutes.

It gets the most out of you in a short period of time, which is great for individuals that are pressed for time or simply do not have the patience or attention span to dedicate themselves to long, boring workouts. Circuit training is most effective for those looking to build up muscle, increase their strength, or looking to shed some extra pounds.
 
What Benefits Are There?
There is very little time to rest during circuit training as the constant transitions from exercise to exercise are rapid. If this sounds very tiring and intensive, you are probably right! However, it does not take long to get used to this and in fact, the benefits are well worth the initial struggled of adapting to the pace.

Because there are few breaks during circuit training, your heart rate remains elevated throughout the whole session. This helps to contribute to the quick burning of calories – up to 10 per minute – as well as increasing your stamina. Combined with weight training sets, this resistance will help you gain muscle very quickly. All in all, this will help you lose fat and weight very quickly, while toning your body in the process as well.
 
Circuit training is also one of the most convenient exercise regimes out there. Not only do you save time, it also compresses exercise routines into an all-body workout. As you complete a determined number of reps or sets, the training is beneficial for your whole body and you do not need to do separate cardiovascular training. Your entire body will be worked during circuit training, which also means that you no longer have to work out every day. Yes please!

In the long run, your body will even be able to burn calories while it is completely at rest. As circuit training can be considered a form of interval training, this will be beneficial in the future. Your heart rate reaches very elevated levels during circuit training and returns to a lower rate when finished. However, this “lower” rate is still higher than the regular heart rate of an idle person. This is because you consume much more oxygen, even after your workout, which ensures that you will burn a larger number of calories. That’s a green light to enjoy more food and other tasty treats!
