Thread lift is a very popular treatment in Malaysia as it does not require surgery, making it a suitable alternative for individuals that are fearful of undergoing surgical procedures. It encourages the production of collagen, which helps to restore your youthful appearance, and the thread lift procedure can be performed on your face or other parts of your body to treat wrinkles, fine lines or saggy skin. The most common procedure is thread lift for face, but thread lift can also be suitable for other parts of the body which can be discussed with your aesthetic doctor.

During the thread lift procedure, an anaesthetic cream is applied to the outlined area of treatment to help numb the skin and minimises any discomfort or pain. Threads will then be inserted into the area using a fine needle, and you will feel a slight prickly sensation which is similar to acupuncture. However, this is not painful. A typical session is swift and only requires around 30-40 minutes to complete. The thread lift procedure will use either thick or thin threads depending on the area or effect required, with fine lines around the eyes typically using thin threads, while thicker threads tend to be used for the jawlines and neck.

The results of thread lift will be visible almost immediately following treatment and can last for up to two years, after which a follow-up treatment will be required in order to maintain the effects of thread lift. Unlike surgical procedures, there is no downtime necessary and you can return to your regular daily routines as soon as the thread lift procedure is finished.
